Workshop on Research Methodology in the framework of the development of the Centre for the Study of Local Cultures (Hubli)

Equipping the students with the necessary skills to become researchers at an international level, who are able to present their findings at international conferences, publish in renowned international journals will be an important challenge for any research institute. The following problem areas are identified in this field: (1) language; (2) comprehension of texts; (3) identifying the main arguments in a text; (4) grasping theories; (5) summarising a text; (6) paraphrasing an author; (7) presenting in a structured manner.

1. underlining the key fragments of a text; 2. summarizing a text and paraphrasing a paragraph in one’s own words; 3. identifying and summarizing the main arguments; 4.comprehending the theories; 5. identifying the problems in a text and working out solutions. 6. Concept Mapping. Concept Mapping helps to identify the logical connections between different concepts and to identify inconsistencies in any arguments.
