VLIR Project: Towards a research network in the Social Sciences and Humanities in Karnataka (2012-2014)

The Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR-UOS) awarded a ‘harvest project’ (South Initiative 2012) to the Research Center Vergelijkende Cultuurwetenschap from Ghent University, to¬†build on the experience of the Centre for the Study of Local Cultures (CSLC) at Kuvempu University set up in a previous VLIR-UOS project.

The project created a network of researchers at universities and colleges in Karnataka, which participate in rejuvenating and decolonizing the social sciences and humanities in the region and meet the local demand for scientifically informed debate on societal issues.
The research network was built through a range of activities: workshops, expert classes, lecture series, national conferences, research and dissimination activities.
